  • Quantifying the Cost of Physical Inactivity: East Carolina University’s Department of Health Education and Promotion has developed a very easy-to-use tool that can provide an estimate of the financial cost of physically inactive people to a particular community, city, state or business.



  • The Texas Recreation and Parks Society (TRAPS) is a non-profit professional and educational organization founded over 70 years ago to advance the profession of parks, recreation, and leisure services in Texas.  TRAPS serves as a clearinghouse of information and resources to help with a wide range of challenges facing park, recreation, and leisure service professionals. These include: programming, grant and aid applications, coordinating events, promoting projects, advocacy and legislative awareness, job postings, and marketing products and services used everyday by our members. Through our comprehensive Web sites, we offer information and training to diverse audiences about health and safety, engineering, advocacy, education, enforcement, access, and mobility as it relates to pedestrians and bicyclists.
